98 points and #2 in Suckling Top 100 American Wines! “Tense and savory, with layers of spicy herbs and black pepper, together with pure, elegant fruit wrapped in blood-orange zest. The structure is tightly wound, with firm, deeply rooted tannins and almost endless length. The mid-palate unfolds with bitter oranges, seashells, iron and crushed bricks, adding complexity. This is built for the cellar and needs some time. Better from 2029." JamesSuckling.com (Suckling incorrectly priced the wine on their website.)

95 points - “The 2023 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Old Vines blossoms in the glass, where balsamic-tinged black cherries mingle with dried roses, nuances of gravel dust and a hint of clove. This wine is seamless and elegant, silken in texture, with a solid core of minerals to balance citrus-infused wild berry fruits that slowly saturate the palate. It tapers off chewy and extremely long, leaving the palate water for more, all framed by regal tannins.” 95 - Eric Guido, Vinous

95 points - “Beautiful cherries and red currants lead the way, showcasing a classic Dundee profile, with hints of red flowers and citrus peel. Bright and crunchy with a vibrant character. The texture is refined, with medium body and a compact tannin core. Succulent fruit and a mineral backbone lead to a precise and harmonious, bone-dry finish. Drink or hold.” 95 - JamesSuckling.com

96 points - “Another white made with partially botrytized grapes. Firmly structured, yet seamlessly integrated, this needs time to fully reveal its layers. Lush and complex, yet delicately subtle and precise at the same time, offering aromas of passion fruit and pink guava, layered with hints of seashells and white berries, while a flinty edge adds depth. The botrytis influence is clean and subtle, contributing a refined touch. White-tea nuances provide an elegant layer and the palate shows balance between tense chalkiness and silky smoothness. Drink or hold.” 96 - Andrii Stetsiuk, JamesSuckling.com

98 points - “Tight and reserved, showcasing the depth of 55-year-old chardonnay vines from Eyrie Vineyard, one of the oldest existing plantings in Willamette, dating back to 1968. A mineral-driven, umami-rich profile with wet leaves, subtle quince, sesame seeds and hints of tangerines. Structured and compact, with a phenolic tension and a savory, earthy, clay-like character. There’s a lot going on in this wine. It is pure, full and very long. Needs time to fully unfold. Whole-cluster pressed. Better from 2027.” 98 - Andrii Stetsiuk, JamesSuckling.com

97 points - “This bone-dry chardonnay is crafted from cluster selection at Maresh Vineyard, with 50% of the grapes affected by botrytis, yet the influence remains subtle and clean. A broad spectrum of aromatics, with pink nectarines, white cherries and white pepper lifting from the glass. Big yet weightless, with a cloudy, almost ethereal presence. Structured, with subtle tannins and a solid mineral backbone. Long and massive, yet never heavy, with extra layers of depth. From old-vine Wente clone planted in 1983. Drink or hold.” 97 - Andrii Stetsiuk, JamesSuckling.com

"The 2023 Chardonnay Cuvee is more savory than sweet. Nuances of sage, musky citrus and crushed rocks waft from the glass. Lifted and energetic, it is packed full of crunchy minerality, with a core of tart orchard fruits that cascade across the palate. The finish leaves the palate reeling with mouthwatering tension as a lemony concentration slowly fades." 92 - Eric Gudio, Vinous

97 points - “The 2023 Chardonnay Maresh Vineyard seduces with a burst of crushed flint stones, dusty sage, nectarine and gingery spice. Its textures are otherworldly, nearly oily yet sleek, with a sour citrus nervousness that excites the palate as opulently ripe apricot settles of the senses. Despite its weight and intensity, this 2023 Chardonnay leaves the palate reeling with tension, salty and lime intense, with a strong mineral resonance that adds lasting crunchiness. Gorgeous today yet balanced for a long evolution.” 97 - Eric Guido, Vinous

94 points - “Precise and elegantly sculpted, with delicately layered lemon, green apple and jasmine blossom accents that dance on the supple yet vibrant finish.” 94 - Tim Fish, Wine Spectator

97 points “The Maresh is a combination of 1970 and 1974 planted vines. Mouthfuls of complexity and elegance. High-toned red fruits and forest-driven umami character, pine bough, blood orange and spice. Long hang times for 2022, the low alcohol is evocative of Old World Pinot Noir. There is a darkness and complexity of the wine, with an intensity of flavour, only 5% new oak, 20 months in barrel. Spiced cinnamon, fresh red strawberries, savoury clove and smoked sea salt, bring an intensity, and a crushed stone minerality finishes this beautiful wine. Silken elegance and intensity combine in a gorgeous wine.” 97 points - Clive Pursehouse, Decanter.

95 points - “The 2022 Pinot Noir Old Vines has explosive aromas of raspberry, strawberry, tangerine, licorice, fern and amaro. The light-bodied palate is just as gregarious, bursting with fruit and spice that accent a concentrated core of berry fruit. It has a luxuriously silky texture, fireworks of fresh acidity and a very long, layered finish.” 95 - Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate.

A blend Maresh planted in 1970 and Weber planted in 1983. More floral, and a bit darker than the Dundee Hills with vibrant long fruit. Pomegranate molasses, cherry and citrus rind.
